About
Few bands have shaped heavy metal as thoroughly as Judas Priest. Coming out of Birmingham, the city widely credited as the birthplace of the genre, they have spent over fifty years setting the standard with a sound that is both razor sharp and deeply influential. Their catalogue spans landmark records including Sad Wings of Destiny, British Steel, Painkiller, and Firepower, with each phase of their career pushing metal in new directions. The current lineup of Rob Halford, Glenn Tipton, Ian Hill, and Scott Travis still brings a sense of urgency to that legacy that is hard to match. Their album Invincible Shield demonstrated that Priest remain a living force rather than a band coasting on past glories, delivering fast riffs, cutting hooks, and Halford vocals that can silence a room in an instant. A recent world tour sold out venues from South America to London's O2, and the track Crown of Horns earned the band a Grammy nomination.
