About
Büyük Ev Ablukada are an Istanbul indie rock and pop band who have been doing things their own way since 2008. Formed by Cem Yılmazer and Bartu Küçükçağlayan, the group famously operates under aliases, so you might know them better as Afordisman Salihins and Canavar Banavar. That playful, slightly surreal approach carries through everything they do. They built a following fast, partly through their energetic live shows and partly through a sound that blends indie rock edge with Turkish pop sensibility. Their 2012 debut album Full Faça came out on their own label, Olmadı Kaçarız, on both CD and vinyl, a bold move that set the tone for an independent streak they have kept ever since. Since then they have put out a steady run of albums, with Defansif Dizayn arriving in 2023, showing no signs of slowing down.
