About
Once known as Caro Emerald, Caroline van der Leeuw built one of the most remarkable chart runs in Dutch music history. Her debut album Deleted Scenes from the Cutting Room Floor spent 30 weeks at number one in the Netherlands, setting an all time record, and reached the top five in the UK. The sound she helped craft blends jazzy vocals with vintage easy listening, Latin flavour, and hip hop beats, drawing on inspirations like Billie Holiday and The Andrews Sisters while feeling entirely fresh. Singles like A Night Like This and Back It Up turned heads well beyond the Netherlands. After years performing as Caro Emerald, she stepped away from that name in 2022 and released music under the name The Jordan. That chapter eventually gave way to a new one: since 2026 she has been performing simply as Caro, keeping things stripped back and on her own terms.
