Lime Garden describe their own sound as "wonk pop", which tells you a lot: the Brighton band pull from disco, surf, indie pop and post punk in ways that feel genuinely hard to pin down. They met at college in Guildford, went on to study at BIMM Brighton, and built their reputation the old fashioned way, playing UK festivals like Reading and Leeds, Green Man and Latitude, and touring alongside acts like IDLES and Yard Act. NME flagged them as one of their top 100 artists for 2022, and the hype made sense. Signed to So Young Records, they released their debut album One More Thing in February 2024, followed by a run of singles including "Nepotism (Baby)" and "Love Song". Their second album Maybe Not Tonight arrived in April 2026, preceded by the title track and "23", a single the band have called their favourite they have ever recorded. Influences range from Charli XCX and Bloc Party to LCD Soundsystem and MGMT, and it shows in music that keeps shifting without ever losing its shape.
