About
Catching Flies, the London based producer and DJ also known as George King, makes electronic music that lives somewhere between Flying Lotus and Bonobo, blending hip hop, house, soul, and jazz into something smooth and deeply atmospheric. He first broke through in 2012 when his remix of Mt. Wolf's "Life Size Ghosts" shot to number one on Hype Machine, and radio support soon followed from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Annie Mac, and Mary Anne Hobbs. His debut album Silver Linings arrived in 2019 to strong reviews, with Future Music calling it "a brilliantly eclectic record" and a moving journey. The remix album that followed featured contributions from DJ Seinfeld, Grandbrothers, and Crazy P's Ron Basejam among others. Beyond the dancefloor, his work extends to video game soundtracks: he picked up a BAFTA nomination in 2021 for his score on the PlayStation title Sackboy. His BBC Radio One Essential Mix aired in late 2024, and his discography has kept growing steadily with new releases well into 2025.
