Charl Delemarre is a Dutch singer songwriter who caught widespread attention by winning the Grote Prijs van Nederland with his personal, heartfelt songs. From there he released the EP De Bekentenis, followed by the singles Zonder Jou and Lichtelijk Verlicht, and a second EP titled Charl, produced by Antonie Broek, the drummer of De Dijk. He played over thirty shows during the Popronde, appeared at Eurosonic Noorderslag and Pinkpop, made multiple appearances on DWDD and Omroep Max, and spent a year performing as support act for both De Dijk and Guus Meeuwis. Alongside his own work, Charl has built a reputation as a compelling interpreter of Ramses Shaffy's catalogue. His performance of Laat Me on the TV show The Tribute: Battle of the Bands drew praise from the jury for the emotional depth and personal expression he brought to Shaffy's music. That same quality carries through his live tribute show, where songs like Sammy and Zing, Vecht, Huil, Bid, Lach, Werk en Bewonder get performed with raw intensity and a clear sense of genuine connection to the material.
