Surinamese DJ and producer Chuckie, born Clyde Sergio Narain, built his name around what he calls "dirty trance": a sound driven by high pitched lead synths layered over Latin inspired rhythms and samples, tailor made for sweaty club nights with big lights and crowd interaction. Tracks like "Let the Bass Kick", "Aftershock" and "Make Some Noise" with Junxterjack became dancefloor staples, and his remix work has stretched across an impressive range of artists from Michael Jackson and David Guetta to Black Eyed Peas and Rihanna. He runs his own imprint, Dirty Dutch Music, and has produced for the likes of 50 Cent, Kesha and Akon. His sets have been featured on BBC Radio 1's EDM focused show "What's Hot in EDM?", and he also hosts a rap, trap and hip hop show on KissFresh. Few DJs manage to bridge the gap between proper club culture and mainstream pop production as comfortably as Chuckie does.
