About
Clinton Fearon spent nearly two decades as the bass player and backing voice of The Gladiators, one of Jamaica's long running reggae groups, and often stepped up to lead on songs like "Chatty Chatty Mouth", "Rich Man Poor Man" and "Get Ready". Alongside that, he was a go to session man for the likes of Lee Perry, Joe Higgs and Yabby You. By the late 1980s he felt a bit boxed in, so he left the band and settled in Seattle to go solo. After a short lived group called The Defenders, he formed The Boogie Brown Band in 1994 and put out Disturb the Devil, the start of a long solo run on his own Boogie Brown Productions label. Mi An' Mi Guitar reworks old Gladiators tunes in acoustic form, while Faculty Of Dub brought his own bass playing back to the front. Heart And Soul reached number 20 on the World Music Charts Europe in 2012, and the albums have kept coming, most recently Survival Vibration and Jah is love.
