About
Also known as: Colin Blundstone, Colin Bluntstone, Neil McArthur
That smoked silk voice on "She's Not There" and "Time of the Season" belongs to Colin Blunstone, who was originally recruited to the Zombies as a rhythm guitarist before Rod Argent handed him the lead vocal job. The band broke up in 1968 right after finishing the baroque pop classic Odessey and Oracle, and a few years later Blunstone started a solo run, first releasing three singles under the name Neil MacArthur. Under his own name he has made ten studio albums, including One Year, Ennismore and Journey. He also became a regular guest voice for the Alan Parsons Project, singing on four of their albums between 1978 and 1985. In the 2000s he and Argent got back together, recording as the Zombies again and touring with a fresh lineup. The original band went into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019.
