About
Cooking with Knopfler is a Belgian group built around the music of Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits, founded in 2019 by Bart Buls and David Piedfort, both established figures in the Flemish music scene. Rather than a straight tribute act, they approach the repertoire as a fresh, dynamic reinterpretation that holds onto the core of Knopfler's signature sound while bringing genuine musicianship to the stage. The band built a following quickly, selling out venues including Trixxo Theater, Capitole Gent and the Stadsschouwburg Antwerpen, and making successful early appearances in the Netherlands. With roots in rock, blues rock and folk, their live show draws on the full range of Dire Straits classics across the decades.
