About

Also known as: Dadi Freyr, Daði Freyr Pétursson

Icelandic electropop artist Daði Freyr first turned heads with his 2019 debut album & Co., a retro disco record that drew comparisons to Daft Punk. But it was "Think About Things", written about his newborn daughter and performed with his colourful ensemble Gagnamagnið, that went genuinely viral, with Russell Crowe among those sharing the video online. The group was set to take the song to Eurovision 2020, won six alternative national contests when that event was cancelled due to COVID 19, then returned for Eurovision 2021 with "10 Years", a track referencing a decade with his wife and bandmate Árný. They finished fourth with 378 points, matching Iceland's all time best points tally at the contest. Post Eurovision, Daði kept busy, collaborating with Australia's 2021 Eurovision rep Montaigne and German pop rock act Tokio Hotel, before releasing his second studio album I Made an Album in 2023. That same year he performed a cover of Atomic Kitten's "Whole Again" as an interval act at the Eurovision 2023 final in Liverpool, flanked by a parade of look alikes and his wife. His third studio album Too Much Not Enough followed in 2026.
