About
Subwoolfer are the kind of act that makes Eurovision genuinely weird in the best way. The Norwegian pop group built their entire identity around anonymity: Keith and Jim performed in sharp black suits, yellow wolf masks, and matching gloves, while a third member known as DJ Astronaut lurked in a golden spacesuit. Their debut song "Give That Wolf a Banana" won Melodi Grand Prix 2022 with over 368,000 public votes, then went on to represent Norway at Eurovision 2022 in Turin, racking up more than 43 million Spotify streams along the way. The mystery lasted until February 2023, when Keith and Jim unmasked as Ben Adams and Gaute Ormåsen at the Melodi Grand Prix 2023 final. A documentary released the following month revealed that Ormåsen had actually been pulling double duty as DJ Astronaut on stage while a stand in danced at the front. After Eurovision they kept the music coming, releasing "Melocoton (The Donka Donk Song)" and the Luna Ferrari collaboration "Howling" before eventually returning with "Dark Side of the Moon" in late 2024.
