About
Delta Piano Trio brings together violinist Gerard Spronk, cellist Nuala McKenna, and pianist Vera Kooper, a group originating from Salzburg. Their repertoire leans into the richness of American classical music, weaving together strands from European classical tradition, Afro American spirituals, and Jewish folk music. Their programme of American composers includes works by Aaron Copland, Amy Beach, Paul Schoenfield, Florence Price, Gilad Cohen, and Rebecca Clarke, spanning pieces written between 1921 and 2016. That breadth of cultural reference sits naturally with what the trio does best: finding the connective tissue between traditions that might seem worlds apart and making it feel cohesive and alive in performance.
