Best known as Sting's guitarist of choice since 1990, Dominic Miller is the kind of player whose fingerprints are all over records you already love. He co wrote 'Shape of My Heart' with Sting, toured with World Party and King Swamp in the 1980s, and as a session player appeared on records by Phil Collins, the Pretenders, Level 42, and Tina Turner, among many others. His solo output spans an impressive range, from the Latin and jazz territory of his early work to the classical interpretations on Shapes, which tackled Bach, Beethoven, Elgar, and Albinoni. He also contributed to Mark Hollis's quietly legendary 1998 solo album, co writing the track 'Westward Bound'. Miller's solo discography stretches well into double figures, with his later albums on ECM, including Silent Light, Absinthe, and the 2023 release Vagabond, leaning into a more contemplative, atmospheric sound. His son Rufus, also a guitarist, plays alongside him, and his daughter Misty Miller has carved out her own path as a singer and songwriter.
