About
Emile Visser is a Dutch cellist who teams up with fellow cellist Pepijn Meeuws for a show called OUD, a playful concert built around the idea of discarded objects coming to life. Think rattling bins, old antennas, broken radios and scraps of plastic, all woven into the performance alongside the music. The repertoire spans a wide range, pulling from Bach and Mussorgsky on the classical end, contemporary work by Matthias Bartolomey, and funkier territory inspired by the likes of Snarky Puppy. It is a format aimed at families with children from age six up, but the mix of theatrics and genuine musical breadth gives it plenty to offer beyond the obvious novelty.
