Employed to Serve pack a serious punch for a band out of Woking, blending metalcore, mathcore, post hardcore and touches of death metal into something that feels genuinely abrasive and alive. Fronted by vocalist Justine Jones alongside guitarist Sammy Urwin, the two founded the band in 2011 and have steadily built a reputation for music that doesn't sit still. Their fourth album Conquering drew comparisons to thrash heavyweights Machine Head, Testament and Exodus, and landed on Loudwire's best rock and metal albums of 2021, with the track "Exist" ranking sixth on their best metal songs of the same year. Their 2025 single Atonement, featuring Knocked Loose vocalist Will Ramos, signalled a new chapter with the album Fallen Star on the way. Recent video releases including Dead Reckoning and A Moment Gone Too Soon suggest the band are hitting their stride again, delivering the kind of dense, relentless material their fanbase has come to expect.
