About
Fleshcrawl have been grinding out death metal from Illertissen, Bavaria since the late 1980s, and their durability is part of what makes them worth knowing. They went through a couple of name changes early on, including a brief stint as Suffocation before that name was taken by the American band, before settling into their identity and releasing their debut album Descend into the Absurd in 1992. Recorded in Stockholm and put out through Black Mark Production, it set the tone for a career built on heavy, no frills death metal with melodic touches. Over the years they worked with producers like Dan Swanö and Peter Tägtgren, toured with Bolt Thrower, Kataklysm, Vader, and Six Feet Under, and released eight studio albums up to Structures of Death in 2007. After a longer gap they returned with Into the Catacombs of Flesh in 2019 on Apostasy Records, proving they had no intention of fading out quietly.
