Gesualdo Six is a British vocal ensemble of six singers led by conductor Owain Park. Their repertoire spans a wide range, drawing on early English polyphony and weaving in Gregorian chant alongside more recent compositions, treating all three as natural companions rather than contrasting worlds. Thematically, their programmes tend to be carefully curated around a single idea, with light and darkness being a recurring thread: the warm glow of a summer evening, moonlight on still water, sunrise, deep night. The group has also performed alongside solo trumpet, exploring the long intertwined history of voice and brass. Trumpet has for centuries carried ceremonial weight in processions, commemorations and military contexts, and Gesualdo Six use that resonance as a way to deepen the contrasts between their choral sound and the brilliance of a solo horn.
