About
Philadelphia's Greg Mendez has been quietly building one of indie rock's more distinctive catalogs since his first full length Phone Records landed in 2016. His sound sits somewhere between lo fi intimacy and wiry guitar songwriting, and it took until his 2023 self titled record to really break through to a wider audience. Pitchfork named it one of their ten essential new albums, a pretty big deal for someone who had been putting out records with little fanfare for years. Since then things have moved quickly. He signed to Dead Oceans and dropped the EP First Time / Alone in 2024, then shared the single "krillin" alongside They Are Gutting a Body of Water and Sun Organ. Now he has a new album, Beauty Land, out in 2026, with early tracks like "I Wanna Feel Pretty" and "Frog" already out in the world.
