About
Hallo Venray have been a fixture of the Dutch rock scene since forming in The Hague in the late 1980s, and they earned their reputation the hard way. Their 1992 album The More I Laugh, The Hornier Due Gets was the turning point, landing heavy rotation on Dutch national radio and a slot at Pinkpop, with frontman Henk Koorn reportedly bouncing around the stage on a pogostick in fishnet stockings. The momentum carried into A Million Planes to Fly, which took them to France supporting Texas. Over a long career they have shown a real willingness to stretch out. The 1997 self titled record brought in samples and electronics, and 2008's Leather on My Soul came as a double CD presenting every song in both acoustic and electric versions. After Where Is The Funky Party? in 2017, they returned with Coffee and Cake in 2022, proving there is still plenty left in the tank.
