About
Hana Lili first got heard through a TV show. ITV's Love Island reached out in 2021 asking to use her music, and her track Stay ended up in one of the episodes, a big moment for someone who'd been stuck without live shows during lockdown. She started out recording under the name HANA2K, a nod to her birth year, and writes introspective indie pop and folk pop about her emotions, relationships and personal hardships. Her voice has been likened to a mix of Billie Eilish and Natalie Imbruglia. She's a first language Welsh speaker and sings in both Welsh and English. Her debut EP, Flowers Die In The Summer, came out in October 2021 and captured the loneliness and paranoia of lockdown, followed by Existential in December 2022. In June 2023 she opened two Coldplay shows at Cardiff's Principality Stadium alongside Chvrches, playing with her own band, and called it so surreal it hadn't sunk in yet.
