Hang Massive built their reputation around one of the most unusual instruments in contemporary music: the Hang, a UFO shaped steel percussion instrument that produces an almost meditative, resonant sound. Danny Cudd and Markus Offbeat are widely credited as among the first acts to bring the Hang to a global audience, largely through YouTube, where their 2011 composition "Once Again" racked up over 49 million views. That kind of organic reach is rare, and it says a lot about how hypnotic their playing can be. The UK duo has toured across Europe, Russia and Australia, and their recorded output ranges from purely Hang focused pieces to collaborations with other musicians and vocalists. Their studio album Distant Light came out in 2016, followed by Luminous Emptiness in 2018. Whether live or in the studio, they have a knack for turning a percussion instrument into something that feels closer to a full sonic landscape.
