About
Five voices, zero instruments. Home Free is an a cappella country group from Mankato, Minnesota, and they pull it off with a lineup that covers everything from basso profundo to beatboxing. Tim Foust's jaw dropping five octave range anchors the low end, while Adam Rupp handles all the percussion entirely with his voice. They built their reputation through relentless touring before winning the fourth season of NBC's The Sing Off in 2013, which landed them a Sony recording contract and a $100,000 prize. Their debut major label album Crazy Life came out in 2014, and the band has kept a devoted fanbase called the Home Fries engaged ever since through a steady stream of YouTube covers ranging from Johnny Cash to sea shanties. The group hit 1 million YouTube subscribers in 2020. Lineup changes have come and gone over the years, most recently with Austin Brown departing in 2024 and Adam Bell Bastien stepping in as high tenor, keeping the group's signature blend very much intact.
