About
Humanity's Last Breath have carved out a genuinely distinct corner of heavy music from Helsingborg, Sweden. Formed in 2009, the band built their sound around a fusion of deathcore, djent, doom metal, and blackened death metal, describing it themselves as "Thall", a term that guitarist, producer, and chief songwriter Buster Odeholm has become closely identified with. Gear Gods put it plainly: few players have refined ultra tight, low tuned metal tones the way Odeholm has, and comparisons to Meshuggah and Vildhjarta give a sense of the polyrhythmic density they bring. Four studio albums deep, from their 2013 self titled debut through to Ashen in 2023, they have built a catalog that keeps pushing the weight further down. The recent singles Labyrinthian, Instill, and Linger all landed in 2023, and Godhood arrived in early 2026, so the band shows no sign of letting up.
