About
Pittsburgh's Signs of the Swarm have spent the better part of a decade carving out a nasty corner of the deathcore world, blending brutal death metal and slam with threads of black metal and hardcore. They got their feet under them with the self recorded debut Senseless Order in 2016, then levelled up on The Disfigurement of Existence, their first release on Unique Leader Records, which started shaping the darker, more textured sound they've chased ever since. A vocal shake up in 2018 brought David Simonich into the fold permanently, and he's been the voice of the band through Vital Deprivation, Absolvere, and their fifth record Amongst the Low & Empty, released in 2023 on Century Media Records. The lineup has shuffled plenty over the years, but drummer Bobby Crow and Simonich have been constants holding things together. Their Century Media debut was produced by Josh Schroeder, known for his work with Lorna Shore, and the band marked their tenth anniversary with the Decade of the Swarm tour. Six studio albums in, they're one of the more prolific acts in modern deathcore.
