About
Also known as: TAIM
Blacktown, Sydney's Thy Art Is Murder have carved out a serious reputation as one of deathcore's defining acts, named by Loudwire as part of the genre's 'Big Four' alongside Whitechapel, Suicide Silence and Job for a Cowboy. Their 2012 album Hate made history as the first extreme metal record to crack the ARIA Charts Top 40, debuting at number 35 while also hitting number 1 on the AIR Charts and landing in the top five on both the US and Canadian iTunes metal charts. Formed in 2006, the band built their following through relentless touring and a technically aggressive sound that blends death metal brutality with deathcore structure. Their catalog has only grown heavier and more ambitious over time, with Holy War and Dear Desolation both landing on the US Billboard 200, and their sixth album Godlike arriving in September 2023. Six studio albums in, they show no signs of easing up.
