About
Carnifex built their reputation the hard way, grinding through lineup changes and relentless touring after forming in Fallbrook, California in 2005. Their second album, The Diseased and the Poisoned, cracked the Billboard Top Heatseekers Chart at number 19, and from there the band took their brand of deathcore across 22 countries, sharing stages with the Black Dahlia Murder, Parkway Drive, Architects, and plenty of others. Third album Hell Chose Me moved over 3,100 copies in its first week in the US and landed them a slot on the Summer Slaughter Tour. Frontman Scott Ian Lewis described the follow up Until I Feel Nothing as a deliberate attempt to blend all three of their previous records into one, heavier and darker in every direction. After a brief hiatus in late 2012 and early 2013, the band came back swinging, signing to Nuclear Blast and releasing Die Without Hope in 2014. With nine studio albums behind them and no sign of slowing down, Carnifex remain one of the more durable acts in the deathcore world.
