About
Suicide Silence helped put deathcore on the map as one of the genre's defining acts, often grouped alongside Whitechapel, Thy Art Is Murder and Job for a Cowboy as part of deathcore's "Big Four." The Riverside, California outfit built their reputation through relentless touring and a debut album, The Cleansing, that cracked the Billboard 200 and became one of the best selling debut albums in Century Media history. Their sound is a punishing blend of death metal brutality and metalcore structure, and their music videos have been a big part of how they connect with fans. The band went through a deeply painful period after losing original vocalist Mitch Lucker, and the 2013 documentary and 2014 memorial show featuring Phil Bozeman underscore just how much he meant to the scene. Hernan "Eddie" Hermida has since taken over vocal duties, keeping the band active.
