About
Also known as: Joris Voom
Joris Voorn has been one of the most consistent forces in Dutch electronic music for over two decades, building a sound that moves fluidly between melodic techno, tech house, and deeper Detroit influenced territory. His early EPs caught the ear of heavyweights like Carl Craig, Derrick May and Laurent Garnier, and from there he never looked back. He co owns two Amsterdam labels, Rejected and Green, both of which have been instrumental in shaping the underground house and techno landscape. His 2014 album Nobody Knows showed a willingness to go beyond pure electronics, bringing in live guitar, bass and vocal collaborators including Matthew Dear. His fourth studio album Four followed in 2019, and the Global Underground mix GU43 in 2020 captured his melodic tech house sensibility in long form style. More recently he teamed up with Nathan Nicholson on the track You and I, showing he remains very much an active creative force.
