About
Keywest started out busking on Grafton Street in Dublin, and that scrappy, street level energy has stayed with them ever since. The Irish pop folk band built a real following the old fashioned way before their 2012 debut album The Message went triple platinum in Ireland and hit number two on the Irish iTunes chart. Their second album, Joyland, went straight to number one on the Official Irish Chart in 2015, cementing them as one of the country's more quietly unstoppable acts. Their fourth album, Ordinary Superhero, featured Irish singer Una Healy and the title track was released during the COVID 19 pandemic tied to a campaign supporting frontline workers in Ireland and the UK. As of 2025, the band runs independently, funding things through direct sales and Patreon rather than the usual label machinery.
