Lilyisthatyou, the Toronto artist born Lillian Davies, broke through in 2021 with a debut single so blunt it kept getting pulled from TikTok. "FMRN" racked up millions of views within 24 hours despite the platform repeatedly removing it for explicit lyrics, and that tension between viral success and content moderation pretty much set the tone for her career. Her music goes places most pop artists avoid: substance abuse, body image, the specific pain of loving the wrong person. The stagename itself came from her song "Purity", a nod to the idea that she inhabits different characters and wants listeners to catch themselves thinking "oh my gosh, lilyisthatyou?" Since that debut she has moved quickly, stacking up five EPs between 2022 and 2026. The most recent, Dirt On My Hands, arrived in April 2026 and includes "Sick Puppy", a track about self sabotage. Her sound sits in bedroom pop and electronic territory with influences she names openly: Frank Ocean, Tove Lo and The Weeknd.
