About
Madison McFerrin makes the kind of soul that builds slowly, layer by layer, with expansive, atmospheric grooves that bloom as a track unfolds. She started out with the three track EP Finding Foundations, Vol. 1 in 2016, then spent years putting out EPs and singles on her own, earning a nod from Variety as a leading voice in the new school of soul. Her 2023 debut album, I Hope You Can Forgive Me, came out independently, led by "(Please Don't) Leave Me Now," a song about a near death experience. "Run" landed on Rolling Stone's list of the top 100 songs of 2023, with her father Bobby McFerrin joining on vocals as she sings to an ancestor who fled enslavement. She followed up with the album Scorpio in June 2025 and appeared on Tyler, The Creator's "Don't You Worry Baby." She also DJs under the name Melismata Mama.
