About
Also known as: Mana, Manà, Maña
With over 45 million records sold worldwide, Maná is the most successful Latin American band of all time, a title built on a string of genre defining albums and relentless touring across continents. The Guadalajara quartet, fronted by vocalist and guitarist Fher Olvera alongside drummer Alex González, guitarist Sergio Vallín and bassist Juan Calleros, pull from pop rock, reggae, ska, calypso and funk, blending them into a sound that hits as hard in Madrid as it does in Mexico City. Their 1992 album ¿Dónde Jugarán Los Niños? remains the best selling Spanish language rock album ever, spawning classics like 'Oye Mi Amor' and 'Vivir Sin Aire'. Sueños Líquidos earned them a Grammy for Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album, and 2006's Amar es Combatir debuted at number four on the Billboard Top 200. Four Grammy Awards, eight Latin Grammys and a catalogue that spans nearly four decades say everything about their staying power.
