About
Marlijn Weerdenburg is a Dutch singer songwriter and performer from Schiedam with a remarkably wide range. Audiences may know her as Maria in the Passion, from her musical work in productions such as Diana & Zonen and Dear Evan Hansen, in the title role of Danni Lowinski, or as a presenter on shows including Moltalk, DNA Onbekend and Hotel Romantiek. Her theatre concert Geworteld grew out of a very personal question: what does it actually feel like to belong somewhere? Having moved countless times, Marlijn found herself unpacking boxes in yet another new city and realising she longed for a deep sense of home. She co wrote songs on that theme with artists including Daniel Lohues, Danny Vera, Tania Kross, Frans Bauer and Roxeanne Hazes, resulting in a set of original duets, alongside new lyrics contributed by Jan Beuving and Antoine Uitdehaag.
