Martin Oei is a Dutch pianist with a particular affinity for the Russian piano repertoire. His programmes trace a sweep through that tradition, from the folk influences of Balakirev and the mystical sound world of Scriabin, through the melancholy of Rachmaninoff, to the rhythmic theatricality of Prokofiev and Stravinsky.
