About
Twin brothers Sander and Arnout Brinks make up Tangarine, a Dutch folk and soft rock duo whose name is literally a misspelling of the word for mandarin orange. Unable to find a booking agent or record label early on, they did everything themselves, touring relentlessly and self organizing their own shows before eventually connecting with Excelsior Recordings. Their 2013 debut album Seek and Sigh put them on the map, and they went on to serve as the house band for the popular Dutch TV show De Wereld Draait Door for an entire season. One of their most distinctive projects was There and Back, a 2016 collaboration with Joey Burns and John Convertino of American band Calexico. Their 2023 album Blank Cassette earned them a NPO Radio 2 TopSong for The World We Live in, and in 2025 they wrote the theme tune for Arjen Lubach's satirical TV show LUBACH.
