About
Maya Fridman is a cellist whose musical curiosity refuses to stay in any one lane. Her project SWAER brings together ensemble Het Muziek with guest musicians from folk and metal, and the result is something genuinely hard to categorise. Her love for uncompromising acts like King Crimson, Coil and Black Sabbath feeds directly into the music: psychedelic cello lines sit alongside heavy guitar riffs, titanic drums and crackling electronics. It is dense, intense, and not for the faint of heart.
