About
Merel Vercammen is a Dutch violinist from Nijmegen who has been performing as a duo with Russian pianist Dina Ivanova since 2018. Together they set out to build a bridge between modern classical and more contemporary music, which shows in their programming choices. Alongside familiar names like Poulenc and Debussy, they regularly include lesser known composers such as Mathilde Wantenaar and Joey Roukens. The duo has recorded a CD called Sarasvati, and their live performances tend to move between quiet, meditative passages and intensely fiery playing.
