About
Mochakk, the Brazilian DJ and producer from Sorocaba, blends tech house and house with Brazilian rap, Latin rhythms, and heavy funk influences in a way that feels genuinely his own. His 2023 single "Jealous," built around a sample from Loleatta Holloway's 1977 track "Dreamin," caught the attention of Billboard, who called it "funky house production that's fun, fresh, and accessible." That same year he became a fixture at Circoloco in Ibiza and played Coachella, Time Warp, Primavera Sound, and Sónar, while also organizing his own Mochakk Calling events across São Paulo, Miami, Lisbon, and New York. In 2024 he dropped his two part EP Locomotiva Ibiza 2099 on Circoloco Records, a project Mixmag praised for its innovative sound and energy. He also opened OBLIQO, his own club back home in Sorocaba, complete with a gallery dedicated to the history of electronic music in Brazil. DJ Mag ranked him at number 61 in their Top 100 DJs list that year, a nod to how fast he has moved from local bookings to a genuinely global circuit.
