About
Motel Westcoast has been bringing American West Coast music to Dutch theaters every other year since 2007, and what started as a modest touring show has grown into something far bigger than anyone in the group could have imagined at the time. Their calling card is four part vocal harmony, something OOR magazine noted stands out for how naturally the voices fit together. That combination of warm, layered singing and a five piece live band has drawn over 275,000 audience members across their runs. The group includes vocalists Syb van der Ploeg, Lo van Gorp, Dilana and Brenda Bee, with Hubert Heeringa leading the band. Their very first season wrapped up at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam with a live broadcast on NPO 2 that pulled in more than 1.1 million listeners, a sign early on that the show connected well beyond the theater circuit.
