About
Mr. Belt & Wezol, the Dutch house duo made up of Bart Riem and Sam van Wees, broke into the mainstream in a big way with their remix of Whitney Houston's "It's Not Right (But It's Okay)", which spent 14 weeks in the Dutch Top 40 and hit number one. In Belgium it climbed to number 11 on the Ultratop chart. That kind of crossover success was a long time coming: back in 2015 their tracks "Finally" and "Somebody to Love" had already been sitting in the Beatport top 10 for weeks, and in 2016 they picked up the Breakthrough Artist of the Year award at the International Dance Music Awards. Beyond the big remixes, they keep a steady output going through their long running podcast "The Cuckoo's Nest", which started back in 2014 as "Mr. Belt & Wezol Music Club". Their sets lean into deep house and future house, and recent DJ sets at spots like De Pier in Scheveningen show they are still very much active on the Dutch scene.
