About
Nashville Pussy built their reputation on raw, unapologetic rock that lives exactly where the name suggests: somewhere between a bar fight and a riff so heavy it knocks your teeth out. The Atlanta band orbits around husband and wife Blaine Cartwright and guitarist Ruyter Suys, whose leads are ferocious enough to land her a spot on ELLE's list of the greatest female electric guitarists. Their debut, Let Them Eat Pussy, scored a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance on "Fried Chicken and Coffee", which is a pretty good calling card for a band that was still finding its footing. Over eight studio albums they've kept the formula tight: hard rock with a southern swagger, punk spite, and lyrical themes that circle sex, booze, and general mayhem. They've managed to stay cult without going quiet, building a fanbase across Europe, Japan, and Australia through relentless touring and a taper friendly recording policy. Songs have turned up in The Sopranos, Entourage, Super Troopers, and the Jackass video game, which honestly feels like exactly the right company for this band to keep.
