About
Also known as: Maya Bouldry-Morrison
Octo Octa, the stage name of Maya Bouldry Morrison, started out making IDM and breakcore before finding her footing in house music toward the end of her time at university. That pivot turned out to be the right call. Her debut EP Let Me See You dropped on 100% Silk in 2011, kicking off a run of releases that stretched across labels like Running Back, Argot, and Deepblak. Her sound draws on classic Warp Records, drum and bass, and the influence of trans DJ Sprinkles, and it carries a warmth and emotional directness that sets it apart in the lo fi house world. In 2019 she and her partner Eris Drew launched the record label T4T Luv Nrg, which has become a home for both of their solo work and collaborations. Her album Resonant Body came out on that label the same year, and she has kept releasing music through it since, including the EP She's Calling in 2021 and Dreams Of A Dancefloor in 2023.
