About
Peruvian born and Berlin based, Sofia Kourtesis has been quietly building one of the most emotionally resonant catalogs in contemporary electronic music. Her sound sits somewhere between deep house and lo fi electronica, warm and personal in a way that feels rare for the genre. After a string of EPs starting with her debut This Is It in 2014, she really hit her stride with the Fresia Magdalena EP in 2021 and the single featuring Manu Chao, Estación Esperanza. Her debut album Madres, released in October 2023 on Ninja Tune, brought together some of her most celebrated tracks and showed just how far her sound had come. The album includes the singles Madres, Si Te Portas Bonito, Vajkoczy and Cecilia. She followed that chapter with a fifth EP titled Volver in 2025, keeping the momentum going on her own terms.
