P rallel, the London based producer and DJ also known as Giovanni Alleyne Graham, moves through genres the way most people flip channels. Garage, house, jungle, reggae, amapiano, funk, jazz and rap all show up in his music, stitched together with a soulfulness he traces back to artists like Timbaland, Moodymann and Missy Elliott. His stage name comes from the concept of parallel theory, which feels fitting given how many musical worlds he holds together at once. He built an early reputation through collaborations with Slowthai, Playboi Carti and Central Cee, and released a string of EPs including Soundboy and Forward before dropping his debut LP Movement. The standout track from that record, "It's A Lundun Thing", sampled a 1997 Scott Garcia track and became a genuine club hit across London. Along the way he has worked with Greentea Peng, Lava La Rue, Rachel Chinouriri and Nia Archives, among others.
