About
Pablo Barragán is a clarinettist with a strong pull toward unusual repertoire and collaborative chamber music. He has brought together fellow string players to explore works that rarely appear on concert programmes, including the Clarinet Quartet by Penderecki, the Prelude, Allegro and Pastorale by Rebecca Clarke, and the seldom performed String Trio by Gideon Klein. Mozart's Clarinet Quartet, which began its life as a sonata for violin and piano, is also part of the repertoire he champions. His programming choices suggest a musician who is as interested in unearthing overlooked gems as in revisiting the established canon.
