Peggy Gou, born Kim Min ji in Incheon, South Korea, has built one of electronic music's most distinctive identities from her base in Berlin. Her sound moves through house and techno with a personal, often playful touch, and her track "It Makes You Forget (Itgehane)" won Best Track at the AIM Independent Music Awards and even landed on the FIFA 19 soundtrack. She became the first Korean DJ to play Berghain, a milestone that says a lot about how quickly she carved out a place in the scene. Her DJ Kicks compilation reached number nine on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Album Sales chart, the second in the series ever to crack the top ten. Her 2023 single "(It Goes Like) Nanana" sampled ATB's 1998 track "9 PM (Till I Come)" and became a genuine crossover smash, leading into her debut album I Hear You, released in June 2024 on XL Recordings. The album also features a collaboration with Lenny Kravitz on "I Believe In Love Again". Beyond music, she runs her own label Gudu Records, launched to give emerging artists a fairer start than she had herself.
