Philip Sayce is the kind of guitarist who turns heads everywhere he plays. Born in Aberystwyth, Wales, he spent years carving out a reputation on the Toronto club circuit before joining Jeff Healey's band in 1997 and touring the world for three and a half years. From there he moved to Los Angeles, landed a spot with Uncle Kracker, and then spent years as the go to guitarist for Melissa Etheridge, appearing with her at the 2007 Academy Awards and the 2005 Grammy Awards tribute to Janis Joplin. His solo work sits firmly in blues rock territory, drawing on the deep influence of Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. He released a string of albums including Peace Machine, Ruby Electric, and Steamroller before signing with Warner Music Canada and scoring a top 20 Canadian rock radio hit with his cover of Ten Years After's "I'd Love To Change the World". His 2020 album Spirit Rising became his most popular release to date.
