About
Ploegendienst are an Amsterdam band who have built a reputation for ferocious live shows, with moshpit fuelling appearances at major Dutch festivals including Pinkpop and Lowlands. Fronted by Ray Fuego, the group play in a space where punk, post punk and grunge collide, with the odd ballad thrown in to keep things unpredictable. Their third album, titled GEEN TITEL, was made with producer Kabul $lim and marks a deliberate reinvention of their sound, described as raw, fresh and varied. Tracks like the brooding opener ASFALT and the socially charged single SURINAAMSE BROODJES show the range on offer, with themes of love, identity, discrimination and self destruction running through the record. Hard and danceable in equal measure, and never less than confrontational.
