About
R.I.P. is a project born from a collaboration between actor and musician Hans Dagelet and producer YAN, known for his work with artists such as Wende and Spinvis. The 2019 album R.I.P. forms the core of the project, featuring eight tracks that circle around the theme of death and transience. Dagelet, who received the Blijvend Applaus Prijs and was 80 years old at the time of the project, has described it as a personal requiem, a work that brings together everything he does. On stage the project expands into a cinematic theater production called Bits and Pieces, with YAN handling electronics and pianist Laurens de Boer on grand piano, while Dagelet contributes vocals and trumpet.
